This thoughtfully designed desk was made by Heinrik Ng Chak Kwan in response to our modern day separation from nature. The aim is to first present the wild world outside the city to urban users by converting the typically flat surface into a surface that mimics a natural landscape. Flat work platforms are designed to be placed on top of the artificial environment so that the user can freely choose to meet his needs to a certain extent. Just like in the real world, the layer design simulates the structure of the earth’s crust. The user is reminded of the city’s footprint in nature and not the other way around!
