Folded Lighting Collection Inspired by Origami Art

Origami is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding that began at the latest in the 17th century AD and became popular outside of Japan in the mid-20th century. This art inspired Israeli product designer Ariel Zuckerman to create an interesting lighting collection called Folded. The designer applied the techniques such as folding, stretching and twisting, borrowed from the discipline of paper, to wooden panels and achieved an interesting result. Veneer covered with an acrylic layer, which leads to a natural wood appearance, but also includes the flexible properties of plastic. The thinness of the leaves allows light to pass through and emphasize the texture. The collection includes a table lamp, a floor lamp that hangs on the wall and a chandelier. The pieces are stylish and original and can easily integrate almost any interior.
