Earlier this year, Moroso released 30 cement editions of the combined seat and table designed by Daniel Libeskind for Marina Abramovic’s live artwork Counting the Rice. The Libeskind design consists of a series of interconnected angular planes that form the back, seat, base, supports and table top. The work surface is angled towards the user and has a small lip to prevent the grains from rolling off. “The cement board folds over itself, enveloping and squeezing the body to carry out the performance, while the form’s powerful gestural expressiveness is embossed on its surface with complex geometries that convey a sense of visual fragmentation,” said a statement by Moroso.
