The South Korean designer Jay Sae Jung Oh has added a range of black pieces to her ‘Savage series’. Discarded mass-produced goods, which are the main material in the series, conspicuously transform the product into an unexpectedly fresh shape with detailed craftsmanship. These two contradicting aspects make a statement about a review of the throwaway culture. The work is a testament to the scope of innovation, invention and beauty that shows itself in the most mundane everyday objects that society takes for granted and wastes. Each piece uses recycled plastics to shape these cool pieces of furniture. It is put together and wrapped with individual threads of cowhide.
