The Russian designer Anastasiya Koshcheeva has created a modern lounge chair made of birch bark with decades of Siberian handwork. Birch bark is a natural material that is flexible, durable and strong, and at the same time water-repellent and antibacterial. Koshcheeva decided to transform the tradition into a modern technique by using it for the material of the Sibirjak chair and ottoman. Koshcheeva combined the birch bark with a strong orange-colored cord that not only holds the material together, but also gives it the modern touch it needs.
