The Eclipse Clock designed by the artist Iván Navarro is a minimalist art object and a functional digital clock made of aluminum, LED lights, acrylic and glass. Why such a name? This is because the circular dial starts completely dark at midnight and is gradually illuminated at dawn until it is completely illuminated at noon. As the hours progress, the viewer will gradually see the word “PETRIFICATION”, which is intended as a conscious reference to the archaeological process in which historical time is consecrated through layers of organic sediments. Under the flawless composition of the art object hides a deep meditation on the theme of eternity and the relationship between light, time and movement.
