Unique Ocean Inspired House

This Los Angeles home by architect Mario Romano reminds me of the works of Antonio Gaudi, a famous Spanish architect who created architectural masterpieces and viewed houses as works of art.

The Wave House was inspired by the ocean and with an affinity for natural landscapes, Romano designed this Venice, California coastal residence to resemble a majestic swell. The two story property is wrapped in white aluminum skin and stained cedar. The structure creates a harmonious ambience with its 40 foot wavy lines on the outside that immediately grab your attention.

The home is made up of free flowing spaces, tall windows, and carefully sculpted surfaces that pay homage to the area’s natural surroundings. One of its most notable features is a large skateboard deck front door that looks like no other.

A cozy family room with a view of the huge lawn of the property, a swimming pool and an open-air theater with an area of 11,000 square meters. There are several unique pieces of art and wall coverings that reflect the unique exterior structure of the home.

The master bedroom is minimalist yet bold: sleek gray walls and white floors and ceilings create a great backdrop for a modern white bed with an upholstered headboard. To add color to the room, the designer used a hot red leather armchair and blue pillows.

The children’s room is furnished in a Scandinavian style with a black and white combination. The furniture is simple yet creative, the bed can be converted into a tent if necessary. Get more pictures of this unique home below!
