Unusual Liquid Light As A Still Life Reinterpretation

Kristine Five Melvær reinterprets a classic still life theme in Liquid Light, a unique lamp inspired by the 17th century Cobbler’s Lamp. The lamp consists of a birch wood plate with a glass carafe and a brass holder for a candle. When the carafe is filled with liquid and the light is on, the carafe acts as a lens that amplifies the light. The designer was inspired by Japanese culture and tried to create Norwegian objects that could also be relevant to Japanese life. This is a wonderful piece to light up your table on long evenings and nights. A very unusual concept, but very interesting and inspiring.
