100 Year Old Amsterdam Schoolhouse Becomes A Modern Loft

A historic Dutch schoolhouse was redesigned by Standard Studio. The interior design is modern with a touch of industrial decor, offers a warm and modern break and respects the colorful history of the schoolhouse. In the living room, a simple storage space made of birch plywood under the stairs offers space for children’s toys and a platform for playing and sitting. The kitchen is completely open to the main living area and has a custom birch breadboard wall. The loft offered space for a home office and a music area. The family decided not to have their own upstairs office and instead prioritized private bedrooms for each of the children. Shelves and a built-in desk anchor the opposite wall of the loft.
