Modern Alps Chalet

Chalets were created to have fantastic winters there and the house we are presenting today is so cozy and stylish that you will love it there even if you don’t like winter.

The Mountain House in Manigod, France by Studio Razavi Architecture is located in an Alpine valley that offers very little freedom for architectural expression. Everything, from the ratio of building height to width to the roof pitch, building materials and window sizes, is strictly controlled in order to force the endless imitation of traditional mountain houses. And they look really great!

The interior is a modern version of a traditional chalet with a wide use of natural light wood and laconic but very cozy decor. The designers made maximum use of the views, although the number and size of the windows are limited and the views are not covered.

The living room is completely clad in light wood, there is a large black stove for warmth and a selection of comfortable modern furniture: a day bed, a sofa, some chairs and tables. The kitchen is in the darker part of the room. It consists of black cupboards and a wooden dining set.

The bedrooms have wooden beams on the ceilings, there are only windows, some works of art and comfortable beds – the view makes the rooms more dreamy and cozy. The main bathroom is decorated with gray tiles that are reminiscent of the stone and the same light wood. There is also a balcony with some chairs that offer a breathtaking view. Enjoy the pictures of this and other rooms below!
