Natura Stove Cork Covered

It is one thing to feel the warmth of a fire from afar and quite another to touch it. That is the idea of Natura, an innovative oven and winner of the RedDot Design Award 2017.

The main body of the stove is made of steel with cork profiles attached and fixed to its structure. These profiles are separated from the steel structure to prevent the cork from darkening over time. Aesthetically, it is reminiscent of vintage steam jets only with a modern material twist. The cork material also acts as a safety layer so users can safely touch and feel the wood stove.

The idea of using cork as the main covering material arose out of the desire to give the user the experience of touching the stove in order to better and better perceive the heat. Cork has given an industrial product a more natural touch and appearance, and made it look cozier and cuter. I think such a piece will easily fit into a modern interior.
