British designer Max Lamb designed the Planks furniture collection for British furniture brand Benchmark, made of wooden shelves, tables and benches with concealed storage. The inspiration comes from traditional English storage boxes, boxing stools and troughs. The tables rest on L-shaped legs, with the tops made of three wide wooden boards arranged side by side. A recessed storage box is hidden in the middle of the table and can be reached by lifting three shorter pieces of wood. A similar storage compartment is hidden in the seat of the bench. The collection also includes a bookcase that rests on two central perforated bars that support three shelves and a cabinet with wooden sliding doors down.
