Sculptural Family Home Minimalist Interiors

Kloof Road House is a unique family home at the foot of a nature reserve in Bedfordview, South Africa. Each room in the house opens onto the open air and connects it to the garden. Transformed steel elements wrap around the frame of the house, giving it a sculptural and eye-catching look. Steel, glass and concrete as well as the three main materials for this project. The interiors are in a chic, minimalist style, very laconic and flashy, and the color scheme is rather dark. Not only were the architects concerned about the functionality and aspect of the residence, they also focused on its energy efficiency. They integrated a water-based underfloor heating system that was connected to solar panels and a heat pump.
